Anoche se llevaron a cabo la 65° Edición de los Premios Emmy, que celebran lo mejor de la pantalla chica. Con una ceremonia bastante aburrida y repetitiva hasta el cansancio, el conductor Neil Patrick Harris no pudo repetir el éxito que logró en la conducción de los premios en el año 2009, y mucho menos en el de los Tony.
Pero pasemos a lo que realmente importa, los ganadores. Si bien hubo alguna que otra cara ganadora de años anteriores, este año se logró romper con algunos esquemas y se dio lugar a la diversidad. Este año, Breaking Bad se llevó el premio a Mejor Serie Drama, desplazando a Mad Men y Homeland. Asimismo, el programa logró una segunda estatuilla de la mano de su mejor actriz de reparto, Anna Gunn.
La categoría que también trajo sorpresas fue la de Mejor Actor que consagró a Jeff Daniels por su actuación en The Newroom, dejando a Damian Lewis y Brian Cranston con las ganas. La que no sorprendió fue Claire Danes que volvió a ganar como Mejor Actriz por Homeland.
En el rubro comedia, Modern Family volvió a ganar por cuarto año consecutivo como Mejor Serie de Comedia. En tanto las actuaciones fueron repartidas por Veep, The Big Bang Theory y Nurse Jackie.
Por su parte, Behind the Candelabra fue la favorita en el rubro de Miniserie/Película para televisión, que también obtuvo reconocimiento para su director Steven Soderbergh, y su actor principal, Michael Douglas. El galardón a Mejor Actriz de miniserie fue para Laura Liney por The Big C: Hereafter, mientras que los secundarios fueron para los veteranos, James Cromwell por American Horror Story: Asylum, y Ellen Burstyn por Political Animals.
