En la noche del domingo se llevó a cabo la 71° edición de los Golden Globes Awards. Con un poco de variedad para todos los gustos. 12 Years a Slave fue coronada como la Mejor Película Dramática, mientras que la cinta de David O. Russell, American Hustle, logró el premio a Mejor Comedia, que también logró el reconocimiento para sus dos actrices en el rubro de comedia, Amy Adams como Mejor Actriz, y Jennifer Lawarence, Mejor Actriz de Reparto.
Por supuesto, y como era de esperar, Cate Blanchett ganó el premio a Mejor Actriz, Leonardo DiCaprio finalmente recibió su reconocimiento por su actuación en The Wolf of Wall Street. Y fueron los hombres de Dallas Buyers Club, Matthew McConaughey y Jared Leto, quienes salieron triunfantes en el rubro de drama. Por su parte, Gravity logró un reconocimiento para su director Alfonso Cuarón.
La pantalla chica también tuvo sus momentos. Como una digna despedida al programa, Breaking Bad logró la estatuilla a Mejor Serie Dramática, y Bryan Cranston, a Mejor Actor. Behind the Candelabra resultó ser la Mejor Miniserie y su protagonista, Michael Douglas, Mejor Actor. Y en cuanto a la comedia, la nueva serie Brooklyn Nine-Nine fue la ganadora, al igual que su protagonista, Andy Samberg.
Y finalmente, el premio honorífico Cecil B. DeMille fue otorgado a Woody Allen, y fue entregado por Emma Stone, quien protagonizará la próxima cinta del director, y fue recibido por Diane Keaton, quien trabajó en reiteradas oportunidades con Allen, y lo hizo con un emotivo discurso que reconoció el trabajo del cineasta.
