Anoche se llevaron a cabo los Golden Globes, los premios que otorga la Asociación de Prensa Extranjera de Hollywood que reconoce lo mejor del cine y la televisión. Los premios que popularmente se definen como la antesala del Oscar, nos dejaron con algo de incertidumbre para lo que será esta carrera hasta el 9 de febrero.
La gran sorpresa de la noche vino de la mano de 1917, la película sobre la Primera Guerra Mundial dirigida por Sam Mendes, que se quedó con el Globo de Oro a Mejor Película de Drama y Mejor Director.
En tanto, la cinta dirigida por Quentin Tarantino, Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, se consagró como la Mejor Película de Comedia, lo que la deja en carrera a la Mejor Película para el Oscar. Además, Tarantino se alzó con la estatuilla a Mejor Guión.
La gran expectativa estaba puesta en las actuaciones. Ya avanzada la ceremonia, comenzamos a dudar si sucedería o no, pero tal como se esperaba, Joaquin Phoenix se quedó con el premio a Mejor Actor por su magistral actuación en Joker.
Por su parte, el actor Taron Egerton resultó ser el Mejor Actor en Película de Comedia por dar vida a Elton John en la biopic Rocketman.
En el rubro femenino, Renee Zellweger ganó como Mejor Actriz por Judy, la película en la que interpreta a la mítica Judy Garland. Mientras que Awkwafina se quedó con la terna a Mejor Actriz en Película de Comedia por The Farewell.
Los actores de reparto fueron para Brad Pitt por Once Upon a Time in Hollywood y Laura Dern por Marriage Story.
Si de perdedores se trata, uno de los grandes abatidos de la noche fue Netflix. La plataforma de streaming lideraba la cantidad de nominaciones a los Globo de Oro. Pero sin duda, el más ninguneado de la velada fue Martin Scorsese y The Irishman, que se fue a casa con las manos vacías.
Por el lado de la pantalla chica, el drama de HBO, Succession se alzó como la vencedora en la categoría de drama. Mientras que la comedia Fleabag se consagró como la favorita en comedia, incluida su creadora y protagonista Phoebe Waller-Bridge. En tanto, Chernobyl, fue la Mejor Miniserie de la noche.
