La National Board of Review dio a conocer los ganadores de este año, que consagró a The Irishman (El Irlandés), el largometraje dirigido por Martin Scorsese como la Mejor Película de 2019.
Además, Scorsese, junto a los protagonistas Robert De Niro y Al Pacino, recibieron el Icon Award, el premio inaugural de la organización.
El reconocimiento a Mejor Director fue para Quentin Tarantino por Once Upon a Time… in Hollywood. Por el lado de las actuaciones, Adam Sandler se quedó con el premio a Mejor Actor por su trabajo en Uncut Gems, mientras que Renee Zellweger se quedó con el galardón a Mejor Actriz por la biopic Judy.
Además, la NBR reveló un Top 10 de las mejores películas del año. A continuación la lista de ganadores:
