Anoche se llevó a cabo la ceremonia de entrega de los Golden Globes 2018, los galardones que otorga la Asociación de la Prensa Extranjera de Hollywood.
Se trata de la primera premiación oficial de la temporada de premios. Pero sin lugar a dudas de una atípica, en relación a años anteriores. No solo porque hay muchos títulos y no una cinta favorita, sino por los aires de cambio que experimenta la industria.
Desde el inicio, vimos una alfombra roja colmada de vestidos y trajes negros. El primer ‘call to action’ de las actrices en protesta por la reivindicación de sus derechos en contra del acoso sexual, los abusos y la inequidad. El ‘Time’s up’ se escuchó en más de una ocasión y mostró el compromiso de quienes están dispuestos a dar un cambio.
Pero más allá de eso, la ceremonia arrojó los primeros títulos de las películasque serán candidatas al Oscar. La gran sorpresa la dio Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri de Martin McDonagh. El drama se llevó 4, de las 6 estatuillas a las que estaba nominada. Incluyendo Mejor Actriz para Frances McDormand y Mejor Actor de Reparto para Sam Rockwell.
En tanto, la excelente comedia Lady Bird, dirigida por Greta Gerwig, se quedó con el Globo de Oro a Mejor Película Comedia. Incluyendo Mejor Actriz para su protagonista Saoirse Ronan.
Por el lado de la pantalla chica las cosas estuvieron interesantes. En una noche donde se habló del rol de las mujeres, la serie de HBO, Big Little Lies, arrasó con todo. La ficción se impuso con el premio a Mejor Miniserie, sumado a los reconocimientos para sus protagonistas Nicole Kidman, Alexander Skärsgard y Laura Dern.
La brillante The Handmaid’s Tale se consagró como la Mejor serie Dramática, junto a su protagonista Elizabeth Moss. Mientras que el show The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel ganó el premio a Mejor Serie Cómica, al igual que su actriz Rachel Brosnahan, quien se quedó con el galardón a Mejor Actriz en Serie Comedia.
No podemos dejar de decir que uno de los momentos más memorables de la velada fue el contundente e inspirador discurso pronunciado por Oprah Winfrey. La mítica presentadora y actriz recibió el premio a la trayectoria Cecil B. DeMille.
«Todas las chicas que nos ven en este momento, sepan que un nuevo día está en el horizonte y cuando ese día llegue sera gracias a muchas mujeres magníficas que están aquí esta noche y muchos hombres fenomenales que pelean duro para asegurarse ser los próximos líderes que nos lleven al momento en que nadie más tenga que decir ‘yo también’ nunca más», sentenció Oprah, al concluir sus palabras.
