Hoy se dieron a conocer las nominaciones de la 69 edición de los Emmy Awards, los premios que reconocen lo mejor de la pantalla chica. El drama Westworld de HBO lidera la lista con 22 de nominaciones.
Pero la ambiciosa puesta en escena de HBO no fue la única en recibir buenas noticias. El legendario show Saturday Night Live igualó al mencionado drama y obtuvo 22 candidaturas. Un par de escalones más abajo se ubica Stranger Things, la grandiosa creación de los Hermanos Duffer y Netflix, con 19 nominaciones.
Este año la categoría de drama no dejó casi nada afuera, a excepción de un pequeño show llamado Game of Thrones. Pero sin lugar a duda, logró recopilar las mejores producciones que se emitieron a lo largo de 2016. Ya mencionamos Westworld y Stranger Things. Pero también acompañan la fantástica The Crown (Netflix); The Handmaid’s Tale, la distopia de Hulu basada en la novela homónima de Margaret Atwood, y This Is Us, el drama de NBC. También se colaron en la terna, House of Cards y Better Call Saul.
En el rubro comedias, SNL dio la gran sorpresa del año. El show que se emitió por primera vez en 1975, demostró que aún cuenta con una audiencia fiel y con un equipo creativo que cada tanto logra reinventarse a sí mismo. Este late show comparte la terna con Veep, Sillicon Valley y Master of None, entre otras.
La puesta en escena de Ryan Murphy sobre las dos grandes leyendas del cine, Feud: Bette and Joan, se quedó con 18 nominaciones.
