Anoche tuvo lugar la ceremonia de entrega de la 21ª edición de los Critics’ Choice Awards, otorgados por la Asociación de Críticos Cinematográficos. Por primera vez, el cine y la televisión compartieron la premiación en una gala conducida por T.J. Miller.
No llama la atención que la cinta de acción Mad Max: Fury Road se haya llevado 9 de los 13 premios a los que estaba nominada, incluido Mejor Director para George Miller, y Mejor Actor/Actriz de Acción para sus protagonistas Tom Hardy y Charlize Theron. A la espera de que los críticos eligieran a The Revenant como Mejor Película, finalmente se decidieron por el drama de investigación periodística Spotlight, que también ganó en la categoría de Mejor Reparto y Mejor Guión original.
Por su parte, el drama del mexicano Alejandro González Iñárritu consiguió llevarse solo 2 galardones. Uno para su protagonista Leonardo DiCaprio como Mejor Actor y otro a Mejor Fotografía para Emmanuel Lubezki. Ya veremos que sucede en las próximas premiaciones de la temporada, pero hasta el momento la carrera está incierta y cualquiera de los largometrajes mencionados podría ser el vencedor.
Por el lado de la pantalla chica la cosa estuvo bastante variada, y nos dejó con esa sensación de justo reconocimiento para los ganadores. Sin embargo, los shows más premiados de la noche fueron Fargo y Mr. Robot. La primera se acaparó varias de las categorías de actuación, incluida la de Mejor Actriz para Kirsten Dunst y Mejor Película para TV o serie limitada. Mientras que Mr. Robot hizo lo suyo por el lado del drama.
