Anoche se celebró en directo desde Hollywood la 67° edición de los Emmy Awards, los premios que celebran lo mejor de la pantalla chica. Conducidos por el comediante Andy Samberg, la noche tuvo alguna que otra sorpresa, pero los shows los que estamos habituados volvieron a quedarse con el oro.
Ni bien se dieron a conocer los nominados a los Premios Emmy de este año, la exitosa serie Game of Thrones acaparaba las múltiples categorías con un total de 24 nominaciones. Y aunque la serie épica de HBO no pudo con las dos docenas de estatuillas, se ha conformado con una docena, logrando 12 Emmys.
Además de los 8 galardones logrados la semana pasada en los Emmys Creativos, el show no se quedó atrás en la ceremonia de anoche. La serie inspirada en la saga de George R. R. Martin se quedó con los premios a Mejor Serie de Drama, Mejor Actor de Reparto para Peter Dinklage, y mejor dirección y guión.
Pensando que en su último año Mad Men se arrasaría con todo a su camino, se tuvo que conformar con el Mejor Actor en Drama para Jon Hamm, quien tras años de estar nominado recién ahora se ha llevado su merecido Emmy. Por el lado femenino, una emocionada Viola Davis recibió el Emmy a Mejor Actriz en Drama por su rol en How to Get Away With Murder, y Uzo Aduba, también muy emotiva, a Mejor Actriz de Reparto en una serie dramática por Orange is the New Black.
En la categoría de Película para TV o Serie Limitada el drama de HBO, Olive Kitteridge fue la gran ganadora de la noche. El programa culminó la noche con 6 Emmys, incluyendo Mejor Serie Limitada, Mejor Actriz para Frances McDormand, Mejor Actor para Richard Jenkins y Mejor Actor de Reparto para el incomparable Bill Murray. El premio a Mejor Actriz de Reparto fue para Regina King por su rol en American Crime.
Por el lado de la comedia ya podemos ver que se ha acabado el reinado de los Modern Family. La serie original de Amazon, Transparent logró el Emmy a Mejor Comedia, y un reconocimiento para su protagonista Jeffrey Tambor, quien dedico su premio a la comunidad LGBT. La protagonista de la comedia Veep, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, se llevó a casa el Emmy a Mejor Actriz, y su compañero de reparto, Tony Hale, fue galardonado como Mejor Actor de Reparto.
