Anoche se llevó la ceremonia de premiación de los SAG Awards, los premios otorgados por el Sindicato de Actores en donde los profesionales de la actuación reconocen la mejor labor de sus pares. A menos de un mes del Oscar, los ganadores comienzan a repetirse y ya podemos ir haciendo nuestras propias predicciones.
Con un gala no televisada (ya que TNT optó por transmitir en vivo y en directo la coronación de Miss Universo), la noche progresó sin muchas sorpresas. Los primeros premios fueron otorgados para la pantalla chica, donde Orange is the New Black logró acaparar dos premios, a Mejor Reparto y Mejor Actriz.
Por el lado del drama, Kevin Spacey se llevó el SAG a Mejor Actor por su rol en el drama político House of Cards, y Viola Davis resultó Mejor Actriz por su actuación en How to Get Away With Murder. Por último, el mejor reparto en una serie dramática fue para la británica Downton Abbey.
Para la pantalla grande hubo de todo y para todos. La cinta de Alejandro González Iñárritu, Birdman, se llevó el galardón a Mejor Reparto, dejando con las manos vacías a la favorita Boyhood. En las categorías actorales, Julianne Moore fue premiada con el SAG a Mejor Actriz por Still Alice. Y Eddie Redmayne logró vencer a Michael Keaton y se quedó con la estatuilla a Mejor Actor por su increíble interpretación en The Theory of Everything. Las categorías de mejor actriz y actor secundarios ya venían un poco cantadas de antemano, resultando triunfadores Patricia Arquette (Boyhood) y J.K. Simmons (Whiplash).
Finalmente, la actriz Debbie Reynolds fue homenajeada con el Live Achievement Award, un premio a la trayectoria que fue entregado, nada más y nada menos que por su hija, la actriz Carrie Fisher.
