Esta mañana la presidente de la Academia, Cheryl Boone Isaacs, junto al actor Chris Pine y los directores Alfonso Cuarón y J.J. Abrams se reunieron para dar a conocer las nominaciones a los Premios Oscar.
Las cintas The Grand Budapest Hotel de Wes Anderson y Birdman de Alejandro González Iñárritu, encabezan la lista de nominados con 9 candidaturas cada una incluyendo Mejor Película. En la mencionada categoría se suman Whiplash, Boyhood, The Imitation Game, The Theory of Everything, Selma y American Sniper.
La cinta The Imitation Game recibió 8 nominaciones, mientras que la favorita del circuito indie, Boyhood, se lleva 6 nominaciones. Una de las grandes sorpresas ha sido el drama dirigido por Clint Eastwood, American Sniper, que logró 6 candidaturas, incluyendo mejor actor para su protagonista Bradley Cooper.
Por el lado de las categorías actorales no hay grandes novedades. En el rubro de mejor actriz han quedado Julianne Moore, Felicity Jones y Rosamund Pike como alguna de las candidatas. Un poco más de debate se ha producido en la terna masculina ya que sorprende la ausencia de Jake Gyllenhaal (Nightcrawler) y Ralph Fiennes (The Grand Budapest Hotel).
La buena noticia para Argentina es que Relatos Salvajes, el film dirigido por Damián Szifrón, obtuvo la preciada nominación a Mejor Película Extranjera. Pero su triunfo no será nada sencillo porque deberá enfrentar a las favoritas Leviathan de Rusia e Ida de Polonia.
La 87º edición de los Premios de la Academia se llevarán a cabo el domingo 22 de Febrero en una ceremonia conducida por Neil Patrick Harris en el Dolby Theatre.
