En las categorías de actuación ya comenzamos a ver algunos habituales como Benedict Cumberbatch, Michael Keaton o Julianne Moore. Pero es la categoría de director la que ha sorprendido con la presencia de Angelina Jolie (Unbroken) y Ava DuVernay (Selma) en la terna. 
En ocasiones el Globo de Oro es considerado la antesala de los premios Oscar, sin embargo, los ganadores de los Critics’ Chioce suelen coincidir con los ganadores de los premios de la Academia, por lo que podremos ver quiénes son los favoritos en esta temporada de premiaciones.
