Nominaciones a los ‘Satellite Awards’

La semana pasada se dieron a conocer las nominaciones de los premios del cine independiente (Spirit Awards), en las que 12 Years a Slave se alzó a la cabeza con la mayor cantidad de reconocimientos. En esta ocasión, la cinta dirigida por Steve McQueen vuelve a arrasar con 10 candidaturas en los Satellite Awards, los premios que otorga la Academia Internacional de Prensa. De cerca la siguen las otras favoritas de la carrera, American Hustle, dirigida por David O. Russell, y Gravity de Alfonso Cuarón, con 8 nominaciones cada una. 

Una observación que merece la pena es que la Academia nominó a la última película de Martin Scorsese, The Wolf of Wall Street, sin siquiera haber visto la película, lo cual le quita una gran cantidad de imparcialidad a unos premios que, paradójicamente, son otorgados por periodistas.

Sin duda, la terna a Mejor Actriz tiene a los pesos pesados de la industria, pero sinceramente si Cate Blanchett no arrasa con cuanto premio se presente en su camino por su magistral actuación en Blue Jasmine, la industria cinematográfica y sus premios pueden empezar a llamarse ‘fraude’.
