Hoy a la mañana los británicos han madrugado, especialmente Daniel Radcliffe y Holliday Grainger, que se reunieron para dar a conocer la lista de nominados a los premios BAFTA.
La gran ganadora de los Globos de Oro, The Artist, se vestirá de gala nuevamente porque encabeza la lista de nominaciones con 12 candidaturas, incluyendo Mejor Película, Mejor Director, y los protagónicos para Jean Dujardin y Bérénice Bejo. Por su parte la película de espionaje Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy, la sigue de cerca con 11 nominaciones y Hugo con 9. Además, My Week With Marilyn recibió 6 nominaciones, mientras que The Help y War Horse, 5 cada una.
Las sorpresas. Hugo, el filme de Martin Scorsese quedó fuera de la lista a Mejor Película, aunque el director se aseguró la candidatura a Mejor Director. Además, tal como se había anunciado previamente, Scorsese recibirá el BAFTA honirífico, el galardón más importante que otorga la Academia de cine Británico.
Quienes también lograron ubicarse en la categoría de Mejor Director fueron Nicolas Winding Refn por Drive, Lynne Ramsay por We Need To Talk About Kevin, Tomas Alfredson por Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy, y Michel Hazanavicius por The Artist.
Una vez más George Clooney vuelve a ser nominado como Mejor Actor por The Descendants, junto a Brad Pitt, Gary Oldman y Michael Fassbender por su rol en Shame. Por el lado femenino no hubo grandes sorpresas quedando nominadas Michelle Williams, Viola Davis, Meryl Streep y Tilda Swinton.
Podremos ver los resultados el domingo 12 de febrero, donde la ceremonia de entrega se llevará a cabo desde el Royal Opera House en Londres. La gala será conducida por Stephen Fray, y será transmitido exclusivamente por BBC One.
